Hospital Battalion Seeks Command Systems Officer

We are looking for someone who wants to work with planning, operation, and development of command and communication systems in an organization where available and robust management is crucial.

Defense Medicine Center

The Defense Medicine Center (FömedC) is the Swedish Armed Forces' center for the function of defense medicine, located in Gothenburg. FömedC consists of a management team with staff, the Armed Forces' Combat School for Defense Medicine (FSS), the Functional Unit (FunkE), and the Hospital Battalion (Sjhbat).

The Hospital Battalion consists of several companies within healthcare, management, maintenance, and patient transport. The battalion is responsible for training 140 of its own conscripts. The personnel categories include officers, specialist officers, medical personnel, soldiers, and conscripts.

Job Description

As a command systems officer, you will be responsible for planning, operation, and development of the battalion's command and information systems. You will be a key person in ensuring robust, secure, and functioning management during exercises and training. The position involves close collaboration with the command systems officer at the FömedC unit staff, technical functions, and other staff members within the hospital battalion. You will support the planning and execution of training within the command and communication area. You are expected to educate within your area of expertise.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan, establish, implement, and maintain command and communication systems
  • Support battalion and company management in command, communication, and information management
  • Participate in planning and execution of exercises and operations
  • Troubleshoot and develop technical solutions within command systems
  • Contribute to training and development of personnel within command and communication services
  • Collaborate with other units and civilian actors as needed

Qualifications

  • Approved officer or specialist officer education (at least SO7) with a focus on command systems/communication
  • Training and experience within the army's command and communication systems
  • Good technical understanding and interest in command and information systems
  • Driving license B and military driver's license
  • Approved medical examination and basic requirements according to FM FysS.
  • Swedish citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous staff or command service
  • Experience with medical units or logistics units
  • Pedagogical experience or instructor background

Level: At least appointed SO 7

Employment Rate: Full-time. Travel and evening/weekend duties may occur in the position.

Start Date: By agreement

Salary: Individual salary setting

The position entails a wartime placement in the Hospital Battalion.
